    Pompano Beach has one of the bigger industrial areas in north Broward, and that means a lot of large, low-slope roofs.

    Around Pompano Beach Airpark, Copans Road and Atlantic Blvd west of I-95, warehouses, distribution centers and light industrial buildings sit under wide flat roofs. The problems we see on them are the usual ones for that kind of roof: water ponding after rain, seams that have started to fail, and built-up or modified bitumen systems that are past their best.

    The city is in Broward's High Velocity Hurricane Zone, so whatever goes on the roof has to be a Miami-Dade NOA approved product. On the beach side, salt air adds wear to metal and fasteners on top of that.

    If you own or manage a warehouse or industrial building, your first worry about a re-roof is usually the business underneath it. We plan commercial jobs so the building can keep running while the work goes on.

    For low-slope roofs we install TPO, PVC and modified bitumen, along with EPDM, built-up and other single-ply systems and lightweight or tapered insulation. Where an older flat roof is still sound, a roof coating can extend its life and may be the better spend. We will tell you honestly which one your roof needs.

    Once the roof is done, a yearly maintenance plan with regular inspections helps it last. We also work with condo associations along A1A and the Intracoastal and with commercial property managers.

    For the single-family homes east and west of the city, we install and repair metal, tile, shingle and flat roofs and offer coatings and maintenance. We explain every option and do not push a bigger job than the roof needs.

    Roof age often comes up at insurance renewal. Florida law limits insurers from turning down cover on roof age alone where an inspection shows enough remaining life, so a dated inspection report from us can help.

    Is a roof coating worth it on an older flat roof?

    It can be, if the roof underneath is still in reasonable shape. A coating can extend its life. If the seams are failing or water keeps ponding, a re-roof may be the better spend, and we will tell you which after we inspect it.

    Do you offer yearly maintenance contracts?

    Yes. We offer inspections and yearly maintenance plans for commercial roofs, so small problems are found and fixed before they turn into leaks.
